Job Title: Seamstress

Salary: $24.00

The incumbent in this position is responsible for ensuring that the Team Member and Department needs are taken care of in an accurate and timely manner. The incumbent in this position, as with all members of the Monarch Casino Resort Spa Team, is expected to conduct himself/herself in a manner which demonstrates initiative, professionalism, personal awareness, integrity, and exercise confidentiality in the appropriate areas of his/her performance. This position shares in the Monarch Casino Resort Spa support of the company’s Vison, Mission, Values, and consistently performs all functions in a fashion that inspires and motivates others to actively pursue them.

Responsibilities

• Repair a variety of uniforms as needed, including but not limited to hemming, patching, and minor alterations

• Alter uniforms slightly if needed after consulting with the Wardrobe Manager

• Maintain sewing equipment and alert Wardrobe Manager to repair needs

• Be able to assist with Wardrobe Attendants job duties, process new hires and terminations, and assure that team members are attended to in a quick and positive manner

• Assign new hires proper uniforms, ID badge, name tag, and tights if necessary • Explain all processes necessary for uniform including dress code requirements, care instructions, ID badge, name tags, tights and garment bag information

• Assist team members with returning company property upon termination or transfer

• Maintain composure and smile while interacting with fellow team members at all times

Qualifications

• Must be friendly, approachable and team oriented

• Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

• Able to prioritize repair tasks and intake of new inventory according to business needs

• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time

• Must be able to lift heavy items and reach to organize uniforms on shelves and racks

• Able to inventory sewing/repair supplies and notify management of supply needs in a timely manner

• Must be able to hang, steam, fold and sort uniforms quickly and accurately

• Must be able to organize uniform items for repair or inventory by Wardrobe team

• Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and other departments

• Must be able to work well with others and alone

• Must be able to work three days per week from 8:00am to 4:00pm

• Work with each department to meet their individual needs

• Adhere to all company policies and procedures

• Previous Seamstress experience strongly preferred

• Proficiency with a sewing machine, serger, iron, and a steamer

• Ability to hand and machine sew a variety of fabrics

• Ability to research necessary sewing skills as needed

• Strong attention to detail

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

• Basic computer knowledge and experience in Outlook and Excel to assist Manager as needed with email and reports

• Must be able to learn the InvoTech uniform software

• Ability to speak and write English and ability to alphabetize

• Ability to communicate information through spoken words and sentences that others will understand

• Successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug scree
