Overview

Job Title: Human Resources Training & Development Manager

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000

Status: Full Time

Shift: Dayshift M-F 8-5 - typically. However, the incumbent must have flexible schedules to conduct trainings early mornings, late evenings and on Saturdays when needed.

Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Human Resources Director, the HR Training & Development Manager is responsible for facilitating the classes and workshops.

The HR Training & Development Manager, as with all members of the Monarch Casino Resort Spa Team, provides excellent customer service to all Team Members, is expected to conduct himself/herself in a manner which demonstrates initiative, professionalism, personal awareness, integrity, and exercises confidentiality in the appropriate areas of his/her performance. The incumbent shares in the Monarch Casino Resort Spa support of the company’s Vision, Mission, Values, and consistently performs all functions in a fashion that inspires and motivates others to actively pursue them. As part of the leadership team, role models the expected behaviors of service, positive attitude, cooperation and accountability. Engenders trust in others and develops credible relationships at all levels. Training Manager will focus primarily on developing, designing, and facilitating primary training programs such as New Hire Orientation, Harassment/Discrimination prevention, workplace violence prevention, interviewing/selection, HR101, guest service standards, and Leadership development.

  • Develops, designs, and facilitates NHO and Leadership Development training programs.
  • Performs gap analysis to identify opportunities for enhancing training, development and performance at the operational level.
  • Working with the HR Director, creating performance benchmarks for consistent measurement and evaluation of competencies across departments.
  • Takes the lead on supporting service initiatives and other development related programs for the property.
  • Works closely with department leaders to identify and develop high potential Team Members.
  • Is the primary point person for the Management and Director Development Trainee programs.
  • Provides strategic support for satellite and auxiliary training and development programs, including online learning and local academic partnerships.
  • Works closely with department leaders to identify and develop high potential Team Members.
  • Develops and facilitates Leadership development workshops.
  • In conjunction with the HR Director, is a primary point person for the Management Development Trainee programs.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
  • Must have Forbes standard training in their background
  • Must be able to develop training programs based on need; be able to perform the training; and conduct follow up

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Management or other related field.
  • MUST have prior Forbes Standard Training experience and background.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years direct experience in a Human Resources Management Role required.
  • 1-2 years of direct training experience required.
  • 1-2 years of direct experience in a high-end resort preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with department managers, Team Members, and the general public.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources, employment law and employee relations required.
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • People oriented and results driven with leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and HR systems and databases.
  • Knowledge of Colorado labor law and HR best practices.
  • Must be able to develop training programs based on need; be able to perform the training; and conduct follow up.
