Under the guidance of the Food & Beverage Director, and coordinating with the Human Resources Director and/or HR Training Manager, the Food & Beverage Training Manager is responsible for facilitating training classes and workshops.

The Food & Beverage Training & Development Manager, as with all members of the Monarch Casino Resort Spa Team, provides excellent customer service to all Team Members, is expected to conduct himself/herself in a manner which demonstrates initiative, professionalism, personal awareness, integrity, and exercises confidentiality in the appropriate areas of his/her performance. The incumbent shares in the Monarch Casino Resort Spa support of the company’s Vision, Mission, Values, and consistently performs all functions in a fashion that inspires and motivates others to actively pursue them. As part of the leadership team, role models the expected behaviors of service, positive attitude, cooperation and accountability. Engenders trust in others and develops credible relationships at all levels. Training Manager will focus primarily on developing, designing, and facilitating primary training programs for Food & Beverage and Leadership Development.

  • Develops, designs, and facilitates F&B Onboarding, Sequence of Service, and Leadership Development training programs.
  • Performs gap analysis to identify opportunities for enhancing training, development and performance at the operational level, focusing on Team Member retention and career advancement.
  • Creating performance benchmarks for consistent measurement and evaluation of competencies across all Food & Beverage departments.
  • Working with F&B leadership, develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures for each position within the department.
  • Takes the lead on supporting service initiatives and other development related programs for the F&B division
  • Works closely with F&B department leaders to identify and develop high potential Team Members.
  • Is the primary point person for the Management and Director Development Trainee programs within the F&B division.
  • Provides strategic support for satellite and auxiliary training and development programs, including online learning and local academic partnerships.
  • Develops and facilitates Leadership development workshops.
  • In conjunction with the Food & Beverage Director, is a primary point person for the Management Development Trainee programs.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
  • Ideal candidate will have Forbes standard training in their background


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Management, or other related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ direct experience in a Management Role required.
  • 1-2 years’ of direct training experience required.
  • 1-2 years’ of direct experience in Hospitality required, with specific Food & Beverage operations experience highly preferred.
  • 1-2 years’ of direct experience in a high end resort preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with department managers, Team Members, and the general public.
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • People oriented and results driven with leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and various systems and databases.
  • Must have Forbes standard training in background
  • Must be able to develop training programs based on need; be able to perform the training; and conduct follow up
