Monarch Casino Resort in Black Hawk is a 23-story resort with 516 rooms, 4 restaurants, and the #2 hotel spa in the USA. Monarch Casino Resort Spa is looking for a passionate Group Sales Manager to join our team! You will thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment that exceeds the expectations of our guests and team members.
Responsibilities
The Event Manager effectively communicates client needs in an organized manner to hotel operations, and provides oversight to ensure client expectations are met on-site. The Event Manager drives customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each experience. This position must provide the highest level of service to our guests.
- Up-sell products and services, tied out to quarterly SMART goal to support department revenue goals.
- Gather and input all important customer data in order to plan appropriately.
- Manage detailed events and BEO progress seamlessly by following established procedures, collaborating with other teams and team members, and ensuring accuracy and urgency in all communication.
- Distribute, prepare-for, and conduct weekly BEO meeting, ensuring cross-functional communication and questions arising from the meeting are resolved promptly with the respective groups.
- Confirm final billing accuracy prior to group arrival.
- Handle event planning aspects prior to group arrival, and serve as a liaison upon group arrival.
- Maintain accurate information for and distribute group Welcome Letter with property map, outlet information, group schedule, and key contacts for questions.
- Prompt and monitor group text exchanges for on-site group support.
- Maintain group planner amenities including Welcome Gift and Care Caddy, ensuring supplies are restocked in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Identify operational challenges associated with a group and determine how to best work with the property staff and customer to solve these challenges and/or develop alternative solutions.
- Support Banquet Manager with group management and coverage.
- Update BEOs with day-of changes and additions to account for proper revenues.
- Communicate operational changes and challenges to Director of Sales.
- Review and record Captain’s Report.
- Monitor, record, and distribute Group Feedback Survey.
- Identify, prepare for, attend, and support follow-up for tradeshows and conferences.
- Flexible schedule to allow for oversight at evening events and on weekends for site tours as needed.
- Work to develop new or existing policies and procedures as determined by need in order to enhance the productivity of the event process.
- Adhere to all standards, policies, and procedures.
- Support other members of the Sales and Banquet Teams, stepping in to assist in duties as appropriate.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related area.
- 1-3 years of experience in catering or related food service industry.
- Ability to stand for more than 2 hours at a time.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
